Maria Millan is a lawyer who practices primarily in family law and youth protection. A polyglot fluent in French, English, and Spanish, she has been a member of the Quebec Bar since March 2013.
Maria began her career in private practice with law firms in the Outaouais region. She then joined the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions, where she worked for eight and a half years in the penal affairs division. There, she gained extensive experience handling cases involving approximately 100 provincial and federal laws.
Her academic journey began in 2006 when she enrolled in English studies at the University of Manitoba. She later earned a college diploma in pure sciences in 2008.
In 2010, Maria broadened her horizons by participating in an international law exchange at the University of Montpellier in France, from January to June. She then completed her studies at the University of Ottawa, graduating in civil law in 2011 with Cum Laude honors.
Following her university studies, she completed the Quebec Bar School in 2012. Eager to deepen her knowledge, she pursued studies in taxation at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) in 2014 and 2015.
For Maria, people are at the heart of her concerns. What matters most to her in managing a case is truly understanding the individual and meeting their expectations. Her sensitivity to human needs, combined with her extensive legal experience, makes her a dedicated and competent lawyer, ready to defend her clients’ interests with rigor, compassion, and passion.
Alongside her professional career, Maria has always been deeply involved in her community. She volunteered for several years with the Guignolée, giving her time to help those in need. A committed athlete, she has played soccer since the age of 12 and continued to do so throughout her university studies. Her constant involvement in the sport has helped her develop strong teamwork skills, discipline, and great perseverance — qualities she now brings to her legal practice.
